Folk are going to be fed up and sick of my terrorising on FB but I promise its all for a very good reason. So heres why
My friend and co collaborator Jenni P is in the finals for the Taylor Wessing Photogreaphy prize at the National Portrait Gallery. I am sooooo very proud of her and it has in fact made me realise I ought to put myself out there a little more. With that in mind I have entered not 1, 2 but 3 competitions in the space of 2 weeks.
I never for a second thought Id make it to the live finals of Illamasquas distinction in artistry prize. Illamasqua is one of the reasons I got in to make up! Its been a wonderful adventure so far. To be recognized by such an innovative british cult brand is HUGE on top of that Im being Judged by Alex Box who Ive ooozed over for far too long and the Pixi Woo sisters who taught me the fundamentals of makeup via their you tube channel.
I also met an awesome lady called Kim Terrel alon the way, who even though is not with Illamasqua any more (Mac bound) has been a real breath of fresh air with inspired advice and confidence building.
Well I dont want to rock the boat by giving premature acceptance speeches, but there is a huge amount af people to thank for my journey into make up and into the finals including:
Alejandra Bano, Man Ray, Kim Terrel, Christopher Kelly, Phyllis Cohen, Jennifer Pattison, Christine Macaulay, Lynn Morris, Franco Sharp, Mam and Dad Sharp, Leena Adreesa, and all the wonderful face painters whove backed me up!
Its about time the worlds of make up and face paint collided
